Intake Reason: Stray, possible drug behind car on chain

What did I do to deserve this? What did I do to deserve the pain that I am in? What did I do to deserve being chained to a bumper while they drove down the road? Did they think it was funny? Did they enjoy hurting me like this? Did they do it on purpose? I thank God that the chain finally broke free, and a passer by called for help for me. The sheriff's department showed up and quickly drove me to the shelter for help. The staff couldn't believe their eyes, they cried for me. Quickly realizing that they couldn't do anything for me at the shelter, they loaded me up and took me to Greystone Pet Hospital. Once there, two veterinarians, and a team of about five vet techs worked for several hours on me. They gave me pain meds, washed the gravel and debries from my open wounds, wrapped me in bandages, almost my entire body. I cry out in pain, it hurts so bad. They said I've lost close to fifty percent of the skin on my body, I have bones, and muscle showing all over. They said they don't know yet if I'm going to make it, that they won't know for 2-3 days. I'm on fluids, and pain meds, and if I make it past these next few days, I will have to under go surgery to try to close up some of my wounds, and have drainage tubes put in so that I can start my healing process. I have a long road of recovery ahead of me. But I have faith, and believe that I wouldn't have survived if it wasn't meant to be. I hope that they catch the terrible person or persons that did this to me, I hope that they are punished for this. Sadly, laws in Ky are minimal, and even if the person is caught, their punishment will hardly fit the crime. I even heard someone say that Kentucky's laws are so bad that it basically welcomes criminals to our state because they can get away with crimes like this. This is what I know, I was hurt badly, and needed help, and the sheriff's dept, Humane Society, and Greystone Pet Hospital stepped up to help me. Now, they need YOU to step up and help them help me. She was found as a stray with her sister Amy Ray. We believe that they were strays for quite a while before they were brought in. Sailers loves to be petted and will nuzzle your hand for more if you stop. She is very gentle and likes to be held. Sailers is shy when you first meet her but she warms up after being loved on for a minute. By the time you are done visiting with her she will come right up to you for attention. We would love for Sailers to find a forever home with a family who will shower her with love and attention and show her what having a family really means. |

He was originally surrendered to a nearby, extremely high-kill shelter by his owners because they said they could no longer afford to feed him. Tux was at that shelter for MONTHS awaiting a home, and finally we had the space to bring him here. Tux is a sweet, sensitive guy who really loves attention. He is a little bit bashful at first, but has been as gentle as can be since the moment he arrived. Tux is still a young dog and needs a home where he can finally feel safe, secure, and loved. He has been in a kennel for so long that he's forgotten what a real home feels like. Can't you offer this guy a spot in your heart and home and make all his dreams come true?? |
